Human Network International (HNI) and VOTO Mobile are joining forces to catalyze a mobile movement, connecting non-profits, governments, and businesses to the people they serve using the digital technologies they have in their pockets. Our new social enterprise – coming in Quarter 1 2017 –envisions a world where all people have access to the information they need to make decisions for healthy, prosperous lives.

As one of the first employees of our new joint entity, you will be joining more than 100 colleagues working to amplify the voice of the underheard through mobile technology. You will be asked to problem-solve on a daily basis, work to develop yourself and those around you, and help shape a young, ambitious company that is powering a global movement.

About the Role

You will be a team member with the Finance & Administration (F&A) department working in the Accra, Ghana office. Your main role is to support the business management needs for Ghana and to ensure that the Accra office provides a clean, safe, and functional environment. The F&A Manager is an important member of the Ghana team, and plays a key role in supporting the overall mission of a new enterprise created by HNI and VOTO Mobile.

Key Responsibilities

Finance

  • Ensure that all transactions are properly accounted for and financial records properly kept
  • Manage bank accounts and monitor cash flow
  • Manage the payroll function, including all health insurance, pension, and tax payments
  • Manage all operating expense payments and tax filings
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial accounting and management reports

Administrative

  • Maintain a clean, secure, and functional office environment
  • Manage the purchase, distribution, use and repairs of all supplies and equipment.
  • Coordinate travel details and logistics for staff including hotel accommodations, tickets, drop-offs and pick-ups
  • Assist HR in compliance with local labor law regulations on all staff matters, including immigration matters
  • Manage the driver and the housekeeper and approve their key activities and expenditures

Profile

Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and communication skills

  • Accounting experience (familiarity with QuickBooks preferred)
  • Experience working with software systems and Microsoft Office
  • Experience preparing payroll and payroll taxes
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • The ability to multi-task
  • The ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Demonstrated self-management/entrepreneurial skills; adaptability and resourcefulness

Team and Reporting Structure

  • Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer
  • Dotted line reporting to the Country Director, Ghana
